I purchased this book to help me prepare for the exam! I knew everything in the entire book inside out! During the test…maybe only 25% of what was in the book was actually on the test! (I think that I am being very generous with this percentage!) I would say to anyone who is going to depend on this book for preparation….don’t even bother taking the test!

The content of the book is fine. Most of my test was in the book. But my test was very different to the one in the book.

Unfortunately there aren’t many study guides out there for this exam. This is one of the only products on the market; therefore, people use it. The study guide is very sloppily done and can’t be taken seriously. It provides some helpful, relevant information, but it contains so many grammar errors, context ambiguities, and cross reference mistakes that it is very frustrating for the reader and makes the reader wonder whether they are actually getting bad information.

After carefully reading other reviews, I purchased this book because it seemed to be the best option for a single study source for this test. I have not yet taken the test but studing from this guide is very frustrating. Besides the incredible number of typos (for God’s sake, hire an editor!) much of the information in the book is either inaccurate or insufficient. The section on the history of sped laws is so badly described (and inaccurate) that I’ve had to look for further information from other sources which is a complete waste of precious study time. And the sample test covers material that is not even presented in the book! Having just studied for and passed the EC-4 generalist test using a very helpful study guide, it is quite obvious that this guide could be much better, especially for the outrageous cost!

This book was a helpful aid. I passed the Content Exam on my first attempt. I did not have a good idea of what would be tested but this book provided thorough yet repetitive information that having read over and over again helped me memorize the information. Spend more time studying the last parts of the book as it seemed to be the most helpful for the exam.
